With original compositions inspired by Black American poetry and years of collaboration with jazz luminaries, Josiah’s music pulses with soul, spontaneity, and creative urgency.

Josiah DeNooyer leads with a rare versatility—commanding rhythm as a drummer while exploring harmonic richness as a pianist and composer. His dynamic voice has developed through work with artists like Carlo De Rosa and Jesse Palter, and through studies at the esteemed Ravinia Steans Music Institute. The Josiah DeNooyer Group features a lineup of progressive, like-minded musicians whose interplay bridges the structured and the freeform, delivering immersive textures and groove-driven moments throughout the night.
